Deepti Nagulapally

Deepti Nagulapally is a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. As a Behavioral Science Specialist in the firm’s Advice Lab, she draws from the depth of her research background to improve the way in which people think through financial decisions so they may drive toward better outcomes.
Deepti helps people articulate what they want to accomplish and reorient their relationship with money to view it as more of an active and strategic tool. She partners alongside advisors to guide them in understanding and reframing unconscious wealth management biases. On an organizational level, Deepti distills complex information into simple, actionable findings to help innovate processes, mitigate risk and magnify the firm’s impact.
Over the course of Deepti’s career, her study of behavioral economics and psychology has informed her thoughtful recommendations. She has found that applying these disciplines for wealth management is in its infancy, and she welcomes the opportunity to make inroads in this space.
In 2020, Deepti joined the User Experience Research Group at J.P. Morgan, routinely meeting with stakeholders to identify business priorities and allocate team resources. Previously, she was at ideas42, a behavioral science consultancy that uses UX research and design to solve social problems.
Deepti earned an M.P.A. from New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She received a B.B.A. in Risk Management from the University of Georgia.
Outside of the office, Deepti’s biggest sources of happiness are her close friends and large, extended family. She is driven to improve the world, and now that she no longer works in the non-profit sector, she finds opportunities to volunteer her time. Deepti loves reading and cooking complex recipes, and is very bad at taking care of plants, but is working to improve her skill set.
