Are you weird about money? Perhaps you want to learn more about your personal finances but don't know where to start? Or maybe you are just trying to perfect your day-trading skills and want to learn some tricks of the trade. No matter your financial literacy level, this workshop is a worthwhile hour where we will breakdown the basics of investing--compound interest, risk/reward, asset allocation--and talk about how to budget and save more. In addition, we will talk about how your money works in different ways and how you can optimize and perfect your money buckets. Financial advisor and money expert, Kristin O'Keeffe Merrick, will break down the jargon, talk about investment concepts and empower you to make some money moves.

Kristin O'Keeffe Merrick is a financial advisor at her family-run firm, O'Keeffe Financial Partners, based in Fairfield, NJ. Prior to that, Kristin spent 15 years as a currency trader, most recently serving as a Vice President at Morgan Stanley.

Through her own money journey, she has decided to dispel the notion that it’s impolite to talk about money and now uses her knowledge and experience to encourage her clients to take on the challenging world of finance. She is especially passionate about working with women entrepreneurs and executives to provide them with creative financial strategies and solutions to make money “less weird” for them to earn, discuss and manage. In addition to building her business, she has a passion for writing about money and contributes to many publications such as Forbes, CNBC and NY Magazine. She is a frequent guest on the Today Show, the NBC Nightly News and Yahoo Finance. She was recently named as 2020 Badass 50 by InStyle Magazine. She also teaches courses in-person and online regarding money, investing and risk management. She is a firm believer in financial literacy for all and is a strong advocate for destroying the gender pay gap and increasing the overall wealth of women. She is Co-Founder of Women Work F#cking Hard, a networking group for women.
