If I weren’t doing this I would be: Owning a candle shop and selling beautifully crafted note cards and paper by the beach. My store would have blue and white french doors and open only 4 days a week by appointment only.

Your biggest loss: Not being selected for the White House Fellowship.

Your biggest win: Being 1 of 6 nominated for the 2018 Black Business Leaders Hall of Fame Ruby Bridges Pioneer in Education Award.

Fantasy dinner date: A boarding pass and US passport wrapped in red velvet with dinner reservations for two in Paris at Carette, my favorite Parisian Restaurant, with Mark Wahlberg my celebrity crush!

Favorite self-care ritual: A warm lavender bubble bath with lavender bath salts, and a scented candle to reenergize me. Other self-care rituals include going to the beach often and putting my feet in the sand, to get grounded.

Best negotiation tip: You are Designed Differently, so come prepared knowing that it is your job to interrupt the other person's thinking and get a non-programmed decision. Know this, anything new and different is scary for most people and they will say "No".

Tilstra (2012) said, "An off kilter, confused or scared mind says no."

Don't be afraid of a No! Learn to reframe. Here's what I hear:
